Bat thingie

Made a pretty significant change to the arms and the wings.  Took the advice of a buddy of my buddy Raj and went more bat-like.  Still need to flesh them out but this represents the idea..

Bat thingie

Hm... not settled on this or anything.  I think the silhouette is cool but the way the wings attach is so anatomically incorrect this that its annoying me.  We'll see if I keep it or not.  I may just do a short under wing that resides under the arm pit and the bicept area.  Would be more subtle but also more practical.

Bat thingie

Had some time today to block out a new creature concept. Just stared with Zspheres and monkeyed around for a bit.  Finally settled on a bat-ish thing.  Still very early work in progress but the design I'm happy with the general design now.

Lizard Dude update

Well I decided to add some hands to this guys as well as a few more SPIKES.   Grrr braawwwrr!!!
I used zshpheres to make the hands and then just kinda positioned them where i thought they should go.  Then I attached their base mesh to the base mesh of my character and reprojected all the details onto my new mesh.

Lizard Dude update

This is pretty close to done I think.  The original artists that created this concept is named Aris Kolokontes.  I found a practical sculpt of it online and worked of that for reference.  I kept it pretty similar for the most part.  The color pass is my own.

2 days on the sculpt I think and a few hours on the color concept.

Lizard Dude update

probably as detailed as i'm gonna sculpt for him.  I dont like to go too fine on my sculpting detail.  Thats what bump maps are for.  I'll probably do a texture pass next.  I'll post up the original concept art tonight as well as the base mesh.
